consciousness – and the dream

  • Mountains and Rivers

    This is explained in Buddhism as the notional degrees on the notional path to Awakening.

    a)     when mountains and rivers are cognized as such, it is the subject seeing the object as separate and real;

    b)    When mountains and rivers are no longer seen as mountains and rivers – object seen as subject only, yet seen as unreal but still separate;

    c)     When mountains and rivers are once more seen as mountains and rivers, as unreal but not as separate.

    Finally the basic fact remains that all there is, is consciousness – and the dream within IT, and “we” are all dreamed characters in that dream.
